Trust Deed Scotland, Scotland’s largest Trust Deed introducer is urging consumers to manage their finances this January and start 2011 with peace of mind. Overdraft charges are at a record high and unemployment levels soaring, the number of people struggling to pay debts in Scotland is ever increasing.
Debt management plans and trust deeds that write off debts can sometimes be the best solution for people struggling to make payments and avoid further debt to creditors.
A spokesman for Trust Deed Scotland said: "Pressures of making payments to creditors can cause a huge amount of stress and anxiety over finding money to afford the next payment.
"Late payment fees and the increased overdraft charges are making it harder for people to budget money from their income, as they are not taking into account these charges and fees.
"Trust Deeds can be a great solution for some people in Scotland to clear off all debts and it is something that should be considered, alongside other options.
"We would recommend that if anyone is struggling with debts and getting harassed over payments, that they should enquire about a solution to help them to manage their finances to stop them going further into debt, and potentially losing any assets.
"The repercussions of not dealing with your finances can involve losing the family home or essential car, so it is a must that your finances are resolved as soon as possible.
"Look at where you can save money and if you are still struggling to pay creditors then you could consider entering into a Trust Deed to align your income and expenditure and will get your finances under control"
